It is not the most comfortable accommodation you can get around here, but it is satisfactory IF you are going for scuba diving since you'll be spending more time outside rather than stuck in your room. The room could have been better maintained and overall it is very basic. However on the second night onwards I was transferred to the deluxe double room which I was entitled for. The chalet are terrible with broken walls and floor here and there, and the toilet is dirty. I was supposed to get a deluxe double room at first which is inclusive in my OWC package, but due to mismatch in the resort's check-in system I ended up staying at the single's chalet for one night. I stayed here for three nights for my PADI open water course. Bordering on the criminally negligent, they're inept, and they just don't care. The diving in Tioman is sufficiently woeful by itself, but doing it with Island Message Dive Centre is just asking for a heap of trouble. Let's talk about service after we have thoroughly understood why the front staff (read: perpetually petulant, remorselessly unhelpful, and apparently mute locals) would give your room keys to a random stranger while you're out, and then have another random person return the keys to you, saying, "We found these on the beach." As for the dive shop attached to the resort, a few choice words are in order as well.

The free breakfast is also beyond all description in any human language - clumps of dried noodles, pinkish rice lacking all taste, sausages smothered in sweet chilli sauce and left for dead certainly at least worth a picture or two to show your friends back home what people used to eat on the island when the Japanese invaded in World War II.

They look as if a 40 year old crack wh*** suddenly decided to nail two pieces of wood together with her pipe, and call it home sweet home. The owner warned that the rooms are basic, but basic doesn't even begin to describe any of the rooms. If you think accommodation straight out of the dark ages is right for you, by all means, immediately make a booking for this travesty that dares to have the word "resort" in its name. Yeah, I might come back if I ever needed a quiet getaway. I do not think other guests and the villagers were impressed with our singing skills tho. We had fun singing our hearts out on the last night we were there. There was a karaoke set too placed at the dining/cafe area. The meals were pretty tasty basic local seafood stuff, limited choices but my partner was grateful for the endless supply of coffee as she can drink coffee anytime of day. Dinner and lunch was provided in the package. There is a small government clinic and a few other resorts on the beach. The beach is clean and the water is blue. You could stroll or rent a bike at a nearby resort. In front of our room was a small convenient store selling your basic stuff. It comes a functioning air cond and clean bathroom and a working toilet. The room was basic but we were given 2 double beds which we love. We were given welcoming drinks and showed to our chalet. If I am not mistaken, his name was Bakhtiar. Upon arrival, we were picked up at the jetty by a super friendly host. We bought our holiday package through myholiday2u website. I must say that this is a long overdue review. Stayed there with a friend for 2 nights sometimes in 2010.
I think there is a small pub too.ĭinner and lunch was provided in the package.
